GJ CLONINGER and CO. is a full service Art
Consulting, Custom Framing and Design firm that has served the Tri-State
area for over 33 years. Our clients may range from a Fortune 100 company
in need of a new art installation to an executive seeking to frame a
personal achievement award. Regardless of their needs, all of our clients
have one thing in common...an expectation of excellence. Since our
beginnings, this is an expectation we have consistently proven capable of

COMPANY
HISTORY
GJ CLONINGER and CO.'s history began over 33
years ago, in 1977 by the current co-owner, Gary John Cloninger. The
business began as a small custom framing operation in a shop on Speedwell
Avenue in Morris Plains. In 1984, Gary's wife, Susan,
joined the team as co-owner.
When the size of the business began to outgrow the shop on Speedwell
Avenue, it moved just a few blocks away to its current location,
boasting over 6,500 square feet of gallery, framing showroom and office
space as well as a full service framing workshop. This strategic move
allowed the business to grow to what it is today. With a full staff of 10
people with over 200 years of combined experience in the art and framing
industry, the business is equipped to take on and complete all large and
small scale framing projects on premises. Because of this, we are able to
exercise the highest ethics and strict quality control, which is the
hallmark of our business. To

GARY J. CLONINGER
President and Founder
G J CLONINGER and CO.
Gary Cloninger has been a part of the art and picture framing industry
for almost 40 years. He was one of the first to become a Certified
Picture Framer as certified by the Professional Picture Framers
Association in the nation. This is the internationally recognized certification of
picture framing knowledge and expertise in the industry.
His talents include all aspects of picture framing design and picture
framing including the design and manufacture of one-of-a-kind custom
framing. Other talents include Art consulting, art restoration and art
installation for his client's homes and offices.
He has successfully completed framing projects ranging from the original patent for the telephone, an original early map of the world dated 1502, to original works of art by such notables as Picasso, Ansel Adams, Renoir and Norman Rockwell to hundreds of framed pieces of contemporary art for Fortune 500 clients.
Interesting Fact:
Gary started
working as a picture framer part time while he was a freshman in High
School.

SUSAN
P. CLONINGER
President of Corporate Sales
Years in the Art and Framing
Industry: 26+
Susan joined the business in 1984. She and Gary have been married for
over 30 years and have run the business jointly since 1984.They have also managed to raise two children. Douglas, who currently attends Cornell in Ithaca, NY and Alison who will attend Tulane University in New Orleans beginning in August 2009.
She supervises the Commercial Division of the company, providing sales
support to existing client base and generating new accounts. She
regularly interfaces with art publishers and artists to create
relationships where the gallery represents these artists to clients
nationally. She also works with the in-house production facility in the
creation of superior-quality framed art for on time delivery to
clients' sites. Susan manages a staff of four who provide support to commercial
clients.
Interesting Fact:
Susan was previously a field director for the Morris Area Girl Scouts,
working to motivate the 200 volunteer adults in the area.

CAROL
FALZARANO
Certified Custom Picture
Framer
Years in the Art and Framing
Industry: 35+
Carol works on many aspects of the framing process, including fabric
stretching, sewing and handling of all fabric related orders. She also
handles art and poster processing. Carol works in both the retail and corporate aspects of the business.
Interesting Fact:
Carol has a degree in fine art and art history and has been a creative
consultant for Ideas to Go
since 1993. She is a also Certified Picture Framer by the Professional
Picture Framers Association.

BETH
SHAW
Custom Picture Framer
Years in the Art and Framing
Industry: 26+
Beth has been creating innovative French matting and contemporary mat
designs for the company for over 20 years. She also provides sales support
to the Gallery Director and design support to the commercial sales
staff.
Interesting Fact:
Beth worked as a stained glass artist and instructor for many years
before entering the framing industry.

Accounting
Years in the Art and Framing
Industry: 20+
Janet provides accounting and administrative support to the company.
Interesting Fact:
This is Janet's third career after 20 years as a homemaker and later an
administrator in Day Care. Upon retiring, she came to spend her senior
years working for her son and daughter-in-law.

EVA
LEMMO
Custom Picture Framer
Years in the Art and Framing
Industry: 20+
Eva is responsible for many aspects of the framing process, primarily
the cutting and joining of all frames. She also cuts mats and fits art
work into frames.
Interesting Fact:
With a background in Fine Art, Eva once worked as a clothing artist.
She is currently a practicing fine artist using watercolor, oil,
acrylic and pen & ink.

MARY
BETH STROUP
Gallery Director / Corporate
Sales Assistant
Years in the Art and Framing
Industry: 18+
Mary Beth provides sales and administrative
support for all commercial work and has recently taken on the position
of Gallery Director. Besides all of the daily demands of running a busy
Gallery and Frame Shop she manages all incoming requests for commercial
client contact. She researches and processes commercial client requests
for artwork and coordinates ordering of posters and fine art as needed.
Interesting Fact:
Mary Beth previously worked as a Direct Marketing Supervisor for Trump
Casino and Hotel. Ivana Trump was her boss.

CAROLYN
GRASSO
Custom Picture Framer
Years in the Art and Framing
Industry: 12+
Carolyn primarily works on fitting framed art work. She also touches up
frames and art work as needed and mounts posters.
Interesting Fact:
Carolyn has a BFA in illustration and is currently an active
watercolor artist, specializing in miniature watercolors which are for
sale in our gallery.

KEN LAMKEN
Delivery & Installation
Specialist
Years in the Art and Framing
Industry: 5+
Ken works on delivery, installation and shipping of all art work for
the company. He regularly delivers and installs large corporate art and
framing orders to our clientele.
Interesting Fact:
Ken was credited as a muralist for the YES network's emmy-award winning show Ultimate Road Trip: Season 2. He was just 19 when he painted the 400 square-foot mural. He also has a BA in Fine Art.
